The charges relate to Newsham House in Stroud Road from 2003 to 2005. Two former care home workers from Gloucester, a 65-year-old man and a woman aged 56, have both been charged. A 49-year-old Wakefield woman and a 60-year-old Chippenham man, who are employees of the parent company ADL plc, also face charges. The charges all involve ill treatment and neglect of 10 residents at the home. All four are due to appear before Gloucester magistrates on 25 September. The arrests followed a tip-off to the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI). A CSCI spokesman said: "CSCI and CACD (Community and Adult Care Directorate) will have discussions with ADL Plc about the implications of the charges and then consider what action, if any, needs to be taken. "The welfare of the residents is our top priority, and we are keeping them and their relatives informed of the situation." | ||
